Webin Stocktake guide

  1. Pause inventory movement at the location, including sales, fulfillment, returns, transfers and other inventory apps. Keep it paused until the count is applied.
  2. Create a stocktake for one active Shopify location. Its tracked, non-gift-card items are saved as a snapshot (up to 5,000 items).
  3. Count every item. An empty count is not zero. Search by product, SKU or exact barcode text. Save each count; unsaved drafts stay in this browser tab for up to 24 hours.
  4. Submit for review. The store owner recounts each variance, adds a reason and approves the stocktake.
  5. The owner applies the approved count in batches of up to 10 items. Keep stock movement paused and continue until every item is confirmed or unchanged.
  6. Export the CSV and retain the adjustment receipts before resuming inventory movement.

Conflicts and interrupted requests

If stock changed since the snapshot, it is not overwritten. Review the cause and start a fresh count for unresolved items. Batches can partially succeed: already applied items remain applied.

If a response is unknown, resume using the same saved request within 23 hours of the first attempt. After that window, do not assume success or resend blindly. Compare Shopify inventory adjustment history with the audit record and contact support.

Access and data

Shopify staff with app access can count. Only the store owner can review variances, approve, reopen or apply a stocktake. Open the app again from Shopify if your session expires. Counts from other stores are not accessible.
